Nancy Izzo Jackson is a career member of the Senior Executive Service, and serves as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Afghanistan in the Bureau of South and Central Asia Affairs. From 2015-2019, Ms. Izzo Jackson served as Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration, overseeing the Offices of Assistance Programs for Europe, Central Asia, and the Americas; Policy and Resource Planning; and the Comptroller. Ms. Izzo Jackson previously served as Deputy and then Director for the Office of Policy and Resource Planning from 2007-2015 where she was responsible for strategic planning, policy development, Congressional relations and formulation and management of the Bureau’s financial resources.
Prior to joining PRM in 2007, Ms. Izzo Jackson was a lead planner in the Office of the Coordinator for Reconstruction and Stabilization. Ms. Izzo Jackson began her career at the State Department as a tenured member of the U.S. Foreign Service, serving with distinction in U.S. embassies in Liberia and Sri Lanka. Domestic assignments included serving as Special Assistant to the Secretary of State’s Senior Advisor on Haiti. In between her Foreign Service and Civil Service tenures, Ms. Izzo Jackson worked in the private sector advising clients on policy, strategic planning, program management and communications.
Ms. Izzo Jackson received her Bachelors of Science degree from Georgetown University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa.
