Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation

Our Mission

The Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation (SRAR) leads a U.S. government-wide effort to bring an end to the conflict in Afghanistan. Our mission is to achieve a peace agreement that ensures Afghan soil is never used again by terrorists against the United States, its allies, or any country and allows American troops to return home. We seek a lasting peace with a stable and prosperous Afghanistan playing a leading role in an economically-integrated Central Asia.
