Our Mission

To provide an accountable, efficient and transparent financial management platform that furthers the U.S. government’s and Department of State’s global foreign affairs mission, provides accurate and high-value financial information, and supports quality stewardship over financial operations and resources.

Our Priorities

Agency Financial Reports (AFR)

Each year, Federal agencies follow the guidance published in the Office of Management and Budget’s (OMB) Circular No. A-136, Financial Reporting Requirements, as amended, when preparing and submitting audited financial statements to OMB. The U.S. Department of State’s Agency Financial Report provides an overview of the financial and performance data to help Congress, the President, and the public assess our stewardship over the resources entrusted to us.
