The Office of Economic Sanctions Policy and Implementation (EB/TFS/SPI), as part of the Counter Threat Finance and Sanctions (TFS) deputate, is responsible for coordinating Department of State responses to requests for foreign policy guidance regarding a range of export licensing applications submitted by businesses, NGOs, or individuals to the Departments of Commerce and Treasury.

TFS does not issue export licenses nor can it accept direct applications for licenses. The first point of inquiry in export licensing is the government office responsible for coordinating the process. Consult their web pages below for detailed information on their areas of competence.
