The project will raise the concept of food security and ways to address it in the context of civic activism and entrepreneurship. By exploring one U.S. NGO’s mobile farm market, Ukrainian audiences will learn about the dynamics of the agricultural sector, especially land ownership issues and the (un)sustainability of current farming practices. Since 2001, Ukraine has had a moratorium on the sale of land, which has negative repercussions on the agricultural sector. The mobile farm market will provide an example of successful civic activism and entrepreneurship that can counterbalance current political situations negatively affecting the agricultural sector and, therefore, food security.
