On behalf of the United States of America, I would like to extend my sincere congratulations and warmest wishes to the people of the Principality of Liechtenstein as you celebrate your National Day on August 15.

This year it is a truly special occasion:  300 years ago, on January 23, 1719, Liechtenstein became an Imperial Principality, forming its current borders.  Your country marks its Tricentennial as a world leader in innovation, banking and entrepreneurship, and the United States is proud to be Liechtenstein’s second largest trading partner.  We look forward to continuing our strong bilateral relationship.
