Lyford Cay International School (LCIS) is an independent, nondenominational day school offering the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program from preschool through grade 12 (ages 18 months – 18 years). The school was founded in 1962 and is authorized by the IB Organization and accredited by the Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.

Curriculum: The IB Program provides the direction for the curriculum. The secondary school offers the IB Middle Years Program, IB Diploma Program, and IB Career-related Program. All students take the PSAT and the MAP standardized tests. All applicants attend their first-choice colleges with most attending in the United States. The elementary school offers the IB Primary Years Program, as well as an enrichment program that complements rigorous learning experiences for high-achieving students. The school also offers a learning-enhancement program to support students with mild learning difficulties. Students have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of sporting and extracurricular activities including, sailing, tennis, soccer, basketball, gymnastics, kayaking, Model United Nations, Interact Club, language clubs, speech and debate, the Governor General’s Youth Award, ceramics, digital photography, funk band, judo, archery, and much more. Community service is integral to an education at LCIS. Students are encouraged to share their time, talents and energy with others in the community. LCIS offers an excellent and ever-evolving platform for technology to complement the IB curriculum by fully engaging and challenging students with the world’s best information access and digital tools.

Faculty: In the 2020-2021 school year, there are 50 full-time faculty. 

Enrollment: At the beginning of the 2020–2021 school year, enrollment is 377. There are 53 students in the Early Learning Center, 136 in the elementary school and 188 in the secondary school. The student body is diverse, representing 37 different countries.

Facilities: The school has two purpose-built, gated, and secure campuses situated in the beautiful western part of the island of New Providence. The 7-acre lower school campus has 38 classrooms, a library/media center, 4 music and art studios, a design space, and 2 science laboratories. The 17.5-acre upper school campus has 8 multipurpose classrooms, a chemistry/biology classroom and lab, a physics classroom, a robotics lab, an art studio and a dance/music classroom. There is a campus-wide, high-speed, secure, wireless network. In the secondary school, students are required to obtain a MacBook Air. Students in the elementary school are provided access to laptop computers and tablets. Every classroom has HD-capable projectors, and students have access to a wide range of additional IT resources. The school has a 25-meter swimming pool and sports field. Students have access to other sports facilities, including soccer fields, a softball diamond, and a running track.

Finances: In the 2020-2021 school year, annual tuition rates are: preschool: $9,000 (half-day) and $10,100 (full-day); ELC (Jr. PK-kindergarten): $19,740; elementary school (grades 1-5): $25,100; middle school (grades 6-10): $28,115; and high school (grades 11-12): $30,500.
